Free Meals

Food is a basic human right, but not everyone has equal access to healthy, nutritious food. Fortunately in Singapore, if you need food to eat, there are places available that you can go to for a free meal.

Background

From time to time, various websites publish a list of places that you can get free meals. The trouble is that these articles usually copy from previous lists, or take the information from websites, both of which are not updated. I decided to put together a list that I will update on a regular basis. I do this either by contacting the organisations directly, or by personally going to these places to eat a free meal. If you would like to add a place to this list, you may use the contact form below.

This list does not include organisations that deliver free meals to those in need. This is an important role they play, because some people are food insecure due to being unable to physically go to places that provide food, and cannot afford food delivery. However, that is not the purpose of this list.

This list also does not include soup kitchens that provide free meals only to a specific group of people. This is important because it ensures that the meals provided — which are usually funded by donations — go towards the target group of people that need the help. However, this is also not the purpose of this list.

The purpose of this list is to provide an updated list of places where anyone who wants a free meal can drop by and have one.
